Chlorine Gas Scrubber System

Chlorine gas is highly toxic. Wet Chlorine Scrubbers may utilize a multi-stage removal approach depending on the initial pollutant loading. Some form of an alkaline liquid solution, such as soda ash or caustic, is generally used as a neutralizing agent. The chlorine scrubber uses random dumped packing, a mist eliminator, and a liquid distribution system to remove acid and toxic gases through absorption and neutralization. The entire Inflow chlorine gas is neutralized before releasing into the atmosphere. The scrubber is capable of reducing the inlet chlorine gas concentration to less than 5 ppm at the Clear outlet. A pre-treatment stage (spray section) handles extremely high concentrations while subsequent high-efficiency stages remove the remainder of the toxic vapors. During catastrophic releases, the scrubber achieves more than 99 % chlorine vapor removal efficiency.
